“I am honored to have grown up in Rockingham, North Carolina, in a small community called Philipadipha (lil Philly). This was certainly not something that I could have ever imagined but God saw differently. He put the right people in my life that took Pride in making sure that I made them proud! It’s not even comprehendible to know that many years after I’m departed from this earth that my children and a generation of Crump’s can always travel to a town in the Northeastern part of the State and see that their father and grandfather labored himself to the Sports Hall of Fame at Elizabeth City State University. I have always encouraged my children to live in that “DASH”. I hope that they can now see that I lived in my Dash!” Crump said.

Crump is the husband of Kimberly B. Crump Ph.D. They have four children, Kohl, Kouri, Kyle and Karter. He is the son of the late Carolyn Crump (Wall) and Thomas Earl Wall.
