HAMLET — Crowdfunding, a popular financing method that generates money from a large number of individual contributions, is one of many new and interesting ways of getting funding for small businesses.

The fundraising tool will be the topic of a free seminar being offered from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28 at the Cole Auditorium, located on the main campus of Richmond Community College.

“Crowdfunding opens up a whole new world of opportunity for the small entrepreneur to get global attention. Our goal is to give participants a clear understanding of crowdfunding and other methods for funding a small business today that have a lower barrier to entry than other traditional financing methods,” said small business marketing expert Martin Brossman, who will present the seminar on behalf of RCC’s Small Business Center.

Brossman developed the presentation along with small business funding expert Dan Scala. Workshop participants will learn the how-to of raising money for a business and what sources of funding are available to explore.

Registration for the seminar may be completed online at tiny.cc/sbcseminars; or via email or phone by contacting Small Business Center Director Deborah Hardison at [email protected] or 910-410-1687.

Advance registration is preferred, but walk-ins are welcome.
