ROCKINGHAM — The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office has served a Rockingham man with a warrant for arrest for his status of a habitual felon.
On April 6, investigators with RCSO and the Rockingham Police Department partnered to arrest Richard Harris McFayden, according to a press release.
During the arrest, investigators located 23 grams of suspected methamphetamine, less than one gram of suspected fentanyl and 13 grams of marijuana.
McFayden is charged with one felony count each of possession with intent to sell or distribute a Schedule II and VI substance; and one misdemeanor count each of drug paraphernalia and resist, obstruct and delay of an officer.
Records with the North Carolina Department of Public Safety reveal that McFayden has a history of breaking and entering, larceny and drug convictions, most recently in 2017.
The suspect was processed into Richmond County Jail and placed under a $600,000 secure bond. He’s scheduled to appear in District Court on April 21 for the drug charges.
