Jaleel Jabar Liles is wanted for the murder of Jonathan Chavis.
ROCKINGHAM — The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office has obtained warrants for the arrest of a suspect in the East Rockingham shooting last Friday that left one dead.
The suspect, Jaleel Jabar Liles, a black, 24-year-old male, is considered armed and dangerous. The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who knows the whereabouts of this suspect to call 9-1-1 or Richmond County Crime Stoppers at 910-997-5454.
Liles is wanted for one felony count of murder in the shooting death of Jonathan ” Jon Jon” Chavis that occurred on Feb 11 on Mill Road.
The last known address of the alleged suspect was Sawgrass Road in Eagle Springs, although he’s been known to have been staying in the East Rockingham area for the last several weeks, according to the Sheriff’s Office. He’s also been known to have contacts in Hamlet and Laurinburg.
Liles has outstanding warrants for probation violations out of Moore County.
