ROCKINGHAM — The Rockingham Police Department charged a Lilesville man with attempted murder on Sunday.
Lloyd Anthony Borden, 54, was charged with attempted first degree murder. The incident took place at a residence on Gore Drive at 5:31 p.m.
According to Lt. George Gillenwater, public information officer for RPD, the incident appears to have been a disagreement among family that escalated into the suspect firing shots at the victim.
Gillenwater said the suspect remained on the scene and gave a statement to what occurred. Several witnesses were able to provide details as well. The victim was transported to a hospital where he remains in stable but serious condition.
Borden has a court date set for May 6 in Richmond County District Court. He’s currently placed under a $1 million appeal bond in Richmond County Jail.
