The Richmond County Tourism and Development Authority will be honoring prominent black Richmond County-natives for the month of February in honor of Black History Month.

After a five-day training in Pasadena, California with some of the top choreographers in the world, Ciarra Kelley returned to her hometown and made history opening the first black-owned and operated dance studio, Off the Wall Dance Studio, in Hamlet.

A 2008 graduate of Richmond Senior High School, Ciarra is well equipped with multiple certifications, including Zumba fitness, Mixxedfit, Les Mills, group fitness, and attained a variety of skills from attending Barbizon, such as, performing in a commercial/ professional setting, modeling, and make-up application. Her work has been showcased on Dancing With the Stars in 2019 and she is currently working with several upcoming artists to choreograph their new music.

In her words, “Live life on a stage, then take a bow!”

This local dancing queen brings a lot to the table, or should we say stage, and we are so glad she chose her hometown to share her passion and talents! Join us today in recognizing her success and history-making accomplishments!
