Greater Diggs Chapel AME Zion Church located at 1258 Old Cheraw Highway in Rockingham will hold a dinner plate sale beginning at 10:30 a.m.

May 18

New Covenant Christian Fellowship will have a Youth Conference nightly at 7 p.m. Guest speakers include Nicholas Pruitte on Thursday, May 16, Zachary Barnes on Friday, May 17, and Naomi Watkins on Saturday, May 18. Ellerbe Grove Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate their pastor’s 13th anniversary with the church at 2 p.m. The pastor’s wife, Sister Gwendolyn Carter, will be honored with a “High Tea” in the church fellowship hall (ladies and girls only, 12 years and up). Attire: casual, no jeans. The guest speaker will be Pastor Sarah Crosby of Haven of Truth Deliverance Outreach Ministries in Laurel Hill. There will be a men’s fellowship cookout with Pastor Darryl Carter in the parking lot, also at 2 p.m. Attire: casual. Lunch will be served after the morning service. Afternoon services will begin at 3 p.m. with guest speaker Pastor Donald Covington along with his choir and congregation, of Timmons Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Marston.

May 19

New Birth Missionary Baptist Church located at 121 New Birth Drive, Hamlet will hold a celebration of their pastor’s 5th year with the church. There will be Sunday School at 9:30 a.m., a morning service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Tony Lindsey of Derby followed by Rev. Ronnie Johnson of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church of Cheraw. At 2:30 p.m. there will be lunch served.

St. John Missionary Baptist Church located at 1729 Derby Rd., Ellerbe will hold a pre-anniversary for Pastor Mary Lindsey at 2:30 p.m. Our guest, messenger of God who be proclaiming God’s Holy Word is Pastor James Baldwin of St. Joseph Bible Church of God from the Windblow community. He will be accompanied by his choir and congregation.

May 21

New Life Ministry and Faith Center will have their annual Missionary Day Program at 3 p.m. at 121 Wortham Street, Wadesboro. The guest speaker will be Pastor Vivian Kellock of Lovely Hills Missionary Baptist Church, Rockingham. Other churches are invited to attend and a return visit will be available upon request. Women missionaries are encouraged to wear white and men missionaries are encouraged to wear black.

June 1

Spring Hill Wesleyan Church will hold a country breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the church located of HWY 38 on Spring Hill Church Road in Hamlet. Funds raised will go for future projects, missions and to support those in need.

Providence Missionary Baptist Church, 1120 E. Washington St., Rockingham will host a music workshop on Thursday, June 6 and Friday, June 7, 2019 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and a workshop concert on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 5 p.m. Minister Will Harris, a recording artist and minister of music for Lewis Chapel Baptist Church in Fayetteville, the clinician will provide a choir music workshop that will include lecturing on various music ministry topics, teach new music to the choirs, and train musicians for their overall benefit and growth of the music ministry. We are inviting other churches in the community to come and participate in this workshop. There is no fee for the workshop.

Beautiful Zion Missionary Baptist will hold a 3rd pastoral anniversary celebration honoring Pastor Wanda Cassidy with guest speaker Dr. Lamont Johnson of West Durham Baptist Church at 3 p.m. at Wayman Chapel Faith Center, 461 Ohio Rd. in Hamlet.

Faith Assembly Outreach Ministries, 148 Daniels St., Hamlet, offers a soup kitchen 9-10:15 a.m. every Sunday and 5:45-6:45 p.m. every Tuesday. Food furnished by the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina and donations. No one turned away. The church also offers Sunday breakfast and delivery at 9 a.m., Sunday School at 10:30 a.m. and morning worship at 11:45. Every second Sunday,it offers its Sister 2 Sister program at 4:30 p.m. The church holds Tuesday Bible study at 7 p.m., Friday morning food box at 10:30,Friday night service at 7:30 and Saturday morning food box at 10:30.
