GREEN FIELDS SANDHILLS will present a solar farm meeting at the Moore County Ag Center, 707 Pinehurst Ave., Carthage, from 7 to 9 p.m. Andrew Branan, ag law attorney, and Tommy Cleveland, with the N.C. Clean Technology Association, providing information for landowners with an interest in leasing their land for solar farms, and for neighbors and communities to learn more about how solar farms impact farm land. Edgar Miller, with Conservation Trust of N.C., will discuss farmland preservation issues and options. VFW POST 4203 AUXILIARY will hold its annual yard sale from 7 a.m. to noon. Anyone wishing to donate items can drop them off at the post at 106 Old River Road, Rockingham. All proceeds go toward helping local post veterans and community events.
RICHMOND COUNTY REPUBLICAN PARTY will hold its convention at 10 a.m. in the jury assembly room of the Richmond County Judicial Center in Rockingham. All Republican and unaffiliated voters are encouraged to attend. Congressman Robert Pittenger and state Sen. Tom McInnis are scheduled to be guest speakers. The party will also be appointing county delegates to the state convention.
CONCERNED CITIZENS OF RICHMOND COUNTY will hold an Environmental Justice Rally at Dobbins Heights Park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The public — as well as choir, rap, mime and other groups — invited.
