MAIN STREET YARD SALE will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Main St. in Hamlet. Vendors will be set up all down Main Street, and anyone can get a space for $5 each. Price goes to $10 per booth on May 14.

SHORT STACKS FOR BIG CHANGE BREAKFAST BENEFIT hosted by the Civitan Club of Rockingham will take place from 8 to 10:30 a.m. at Fatz Café, 714 U.S. 74 Business, Rockingham. Cost is $7 per person.

SINAI KINGDOM SUMMER CAMP hosted by Mount Sinai Baptist Church, 171 Graham Bridge Road, Rockingham, will have its open house event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Children will enjoy crafts, field trips, storytelling and tap into and develop their creative abilities. HITCHCOCK CREEK DUCK DERBY to benefit Sandhills Children’s Center will take place at 2 p.m. at the Steele Street access point to Hitchcock Creek in Rockingham. The cost to foster a lone duck is $5, a paddle of ducks is $20 (buy four, get one free), a raft of ducks is $50 (buy 10, get three free) and a flotilla of ducks is $100 (buy 20, get seven free). The Griffin Toyota first place super duck wins $1,500 and the Camina Design & Construction second place lucky duck wins $500. If the winning duck’s number matches one of two numbers pre-selected by SCA Promotions, a million dollar prize will be shared equally between the foster parent.

2ND ANNUAL ELLERBE SPRINGS FRONT PORCH SENIORS’ ART SHOW will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. at Ellerbe Springs Inn and Campground. The free event will feature artwork done by seniors from Richmond County’s Senior Centers. Any donations will be gladly accepted and will go toward much needed art supplies. 2016 ANNUAL GOD’S GARDEN BLESSING OF THE GARDEN will take place at 5 p.m. at 244 Larry Parsons Road, Ellerbe. All are invited to share in a time of blessing, music, food, fellowship, tying of prayer ribbons and decorating scarecrows to celebrate and give thanks for all that God is growing in His 2016 garden. This year’s theme is “Cub Scout Games,” and participating Scouts will train to be champions in camping, science, cooking and more, all while learning about sportsmanship, teamwork, fair play and doing their best. Richmond County Schools has partnered with the Cub Scouts to provide a nutritious breakfast and lunch for all campers. The cost of the camp is $50 and includes a T-shirt, patch, snacks and supplies.
