WILD FOODS COOK-OFF will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 133 Ballard St., Ellerbe, with dish registration starting at 6 p.m. The Nature Conservancy’s North Carolina Longleaf Pine restoration director, Jeff Marcus, will give a presentation titled “Through the Pines: A Journey in the Longleaf Forest” which will explore the longleaf forest through the eyes of a gopher frog at 6:30 p.m. Cost for the tasting party is $5. 89TH ANNUAL STAR FIDDLERS’ CONVENTION will be held at 6 p.m. at East Montgomery High School, located one mile south of Biscoe on Old U.S. 220. KICKOFF RECEPTION for Richmond County Senior Games and Silver Arts will take place at the Hamlet Senior Center. Seniors age 50 and above are invited. Registration will begin during the reception and will continue throughout the month of March. Registration is $11, but there is no charge to attend the reception. Entry in sports, arts or crafts require registration.

RICHMOND COUNTY RETIRED SCHOOL PERSONNEL will hold voting for the National Education Association delegate from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Leath Memorial Library in the Wall Room. All RCRSP members are asked to come by to vote.

The proceeds of the sale will benefit the historical society.
