Norma Key Lee, 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Scotia Village in Laurinburg, North Carolina. She was the wife of Hugh A. Lee, Sr. for 61 years.

Born in Ellerbe, North Carolina on June 24, 1929, she is survived by her husband Hugh A. Lee, Sr.; son Hugh A. Lee, Jr; daughter-in-law Molly G. Lee; and devoted grandchildren Courtney E. Lee of Charlotte NC and Parker A. Lee of New London CT.

The daughter of Alice and Marvin E. Key of Key’s Crossing in Ellerbe, North Carolina was also preceded in death by brothers Marvin Key, Jr., Neil Key; and sister Barbara Farquarr. She is survived by brother Earl Key of Rockingham; sisters-in-law Lydia Key of Rockingham, Ellie Key, of Graham NC and Anne Key of Atlanta GA.

A life long resident of Richmond County, she graduated from Ellerbe High School. She enjoyed her family, gardening, sewing, reading, music, local pottery and traveling abroad with her husband.

She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church and also previously served on the Altar Guild at the Episcopal Church of the Messiah in Rockingham.

Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5 in the Fellowship Hall and the Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the Sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church, 904 Fayetteville Road, Rockingham, North Carolina. The Service will be officiated by the Reverend Dwight Williams.

The family requests that in Lieu of flowers contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 8300 Health Park, Raleigh NC, 27615.

The family is being assisted by Russell-Marks Funeral Home.
