NORLINA, N.C. (AP) — A North Carolina police chief says a man wanted for killing his son and wounding his ex-wife before using Facebook to admit to the attack might have been spotted in Richmond, Virginia.
Norlina Police Chief Taylor Bartholomew said Wednesday that authorities are still looking for Earl Valentine, charged with murder in the death of his 15-year-old son early Tuesday.
Bartholomew said Valentine indicated he was on his way to Richmond, Virginia, to kill other family members, and that some witnesses reported seeing him there. Asked if authorities had taken steps to protect the family, Richmond Police Department spokesman James Mercante declined to comment.
Bartholomew said Valentine’s ex-wife, Keisha Valentine, was still in critical condition.
The FBI and U.S. marshals are helping with the search.
