BALTIMORE (AP) — Three people have been indicted in a human trafficking case in Maryland.
Attorney General Brian Frosh announced the indictment Tuesday against three people in an enterprise that recruited victims throughout Maryland. Two victims were teenagers from other states, including New Jersey and North Carolina.
Frosh says the defendants promoted their enterprise under the guise of a modeling and escort agency.
The attorney general’s office says the investigation resulted in an indictment against Rashid Marwan Mosby, Terra Marie Perry and Joshua Isaiah Jones. Mosby and Perry are in custody. Jones remains at large.
Authorities say they operated by renting dozens of hotel rooms throughout Maryland to place and harbor victims for the purpose of sexual encounters.
Prince George’s County authorities and the Maryland State Police collaborated on the case.
