DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Police say a Durham man has been arrested in connection with the abduction of two teenage girls and an 11-year-old girl.
Spokeswoman Kammie Michael said in a statement that 51-year-old Juan Carlos Gutierrez was arrested Tuesday after the juveniles were located in Selma.
Michael said Gutierrez is charged with three counts of abduction of children. He was also served with a warrant charging him with the abduction of a child last summer in Johnston County.
He is currently in the Johnston County Jail. It’s not known if he has an attorney.
Investigators were told that Gutierrez came to an apartment and the three girls left with him. The parents were unable to contact the juveniles after they left, but were located after a joint investigation involving multiple agencies.
