CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — A Charlotte man was been killed when he was struck by a vehicle in a freight yard.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police told local media that 46-year-old Dexter Leroy Marion died Sunday evening when he was run over at the loading dock.

Police said Marion was operating a yard hopper, a tractor trailer cab used only to move trailers around the business. Investigators said Marion got out of the truck from the loading dock and the truck rolled over him.

The accident is being investigated by police and the North Carolina Department of Labor and the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
