AHOSKIE, N.C. (AP) — Police in northeastern North Carolina are looking for two people connected to a deadly shooting at a convenience store.

Local media outlets report the shooting occurred Wednesday at the Murphy Express on U.S. Highway 13 in Ahoskie.

Police Chief Troy Fitzhugh told WITN-TV in Greenville that the store clerk has been identified as 23-year-old Lakiesha Sutton. Fitzhugh said she died Wednesday night in a Norfolk, Virginia, hospital.

Authorities say warrants have been issued for Shakur Stephenson of Murfreesboro, charging him with first-degree murder and five charges of felony attempted first-degree murder. Police are also looking for a second person who they say was in the car with Stephenson.
