RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — A new organization supporting immigration reform is announcing its plans and data about the contributions of immigrants to North Carolina.

Supporters of the Reason for Reform campaign will discuss their plans Wednesday at Pullen Memorial Baptist Church in Raleigh. The event will feature Ann Robertson of the Robertson Immigration Law Firm and Bob Orr, a former associate justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court and former GOP candidate for governor.

They plan to highlight why they believe immigration reform is necessary and present the state data on immigrant contributions.

The event is sponsored by the Partnership for a New American Economy and the North Carolina Council of Churches. Similar events are being held in the other 49 states and Washington, D.C.
