GOLDSBORO, N.C. (AP) — Wayne County deputies say a man has been charged with murder in the death of a 25-year-old man who tried to drive for help after he was shot this weekend.

Investigators said in a news release that 24-year-old Matthew Moyers was arrested Monday.

Deputies say Moyers got into an argument with Joshua Forbes in a yard at a home near Goldsboro and shot Forbes during the fight.

Authorities say Forbes tried to drive for help up U.S. Highway 117, but was pronounced dead at a business where he stopped to get help.

It wasn’t known if Moyers had a lawyer.
