GOLDSBORO, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina deputies say a man has been charged with murder in the death of a man who drove away trying to get help after he was shot this weekend.

Investigators in Wayne County said in a news release that 24-year-old Matthew Moyers was arrested Monday.

Deputies say Moyers got into an argument with 25-year-old Joshua Forbes in a yard at a home near Goldsboro and shot Forbes during the fight.

Authorities say Forbes tried to drive for help up U.S. Highway 117 but was pronounced dead at a business where he stopped to get help.

It wasn’t known if Moyers had a lawyer.
