Mrs. Beatrice Stanley O’Brien, 93, of Hamlet died Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at First Health Richmond Memorial Hospital. She was born November 14, 1919 in Scotland County, a daughter of the late J. B. and Patience Milliken Stanley.

Mrs. O’Brien was a member of Fellowship United Methodist Church. For several years, she was employed with the Raleigh Street Pharmacy and Campbell’s Pharmacy in Hamlet. Mrs. O’Brien was a volunteer in the pediatric unit of Hamlet Hospital for many years.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 18th at Fellowship United Methodist Church in Hamlet with Rev. Tony Joyner officiating. Interment will follow at Richmond Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. O’Brien is survived by a daughter, Cynthia O’Brien of Hamlet; a son, Rick O’Brien and wife Carol of North Myrtle Beach, SC; a grandson, Ritchie O’Brien and wife Joyce of Goose Creek, SC; and two great grandsons, Benjamin and Landon. Mrs. O’Brien was preceded in death by her husband, Mike O’Brien; and nine brothers and sisters.
