Robert Lee Prevatte Sr., 88, of 526 Rice St., Hamlet, died, Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at Richmond Pines Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Hamlet.
The Funeral will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, with Rev. Randy Bishop officiating. Burial will be private.
Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at First Baptist Church, Hamlet.
Prevatte was born in Marlboro County, S.C., Jan. 4, 1924, son of Alexander Dixon Prevatte and Minnie Shankle Prevatte. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Hamlet, and previously worked for Carolina Gas Company before his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Letha Elvis Prevatte of the home; daughter, Letha P. Lysaght of Charleston, S.C.; sons, Bobby Prevatte and Billy Prevatte both of Hamlet, and John Prevatte of Woodstock, Ga.; a brother, A.D. Prevatte of McColl, S.C.; seven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
