Marguerite Alden Rivers, 91, of Somerset Court, Hamlet, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, in Eastside Cemetery with Rev. Chris Hawks officiating.
The family will see friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham.
Rivers was born Oct. 20, 1920, in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Amasa Crawford and Lilia Mae Campbell Alden. She was of the Presbyterian Faith and a retired Paralegal. She was preceded in death by her husband William J. Rivers; a son, William J. Rivers II and a sister, Betty Jo Cybak.
Surviving are her sons, Michael A. Rivers of Delta, Ala., Douglas M. Rivers of Marietta, Ga., Blaine W. Rivers of Charleston, S.C.; sisters, Doris Smith of Hoffman, Priscilla Lewis of Marston, Patsy Smith of Charlotte, Peggy Taylor of Wedgefield, S.C., Jeannie Baldwin and Elsie Edmunds, both of Hamlet; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
