Jack Kirby Gerald Sr., 76, of 441 Ford Hill Road, Rockingham, died Monday, July 9, 2012, in his home.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, in the Gerald Family Cemetery on Ford Hill Road with Rev. Phil Hinson officiating.
A lifelong resident of Richmond County, Jack was born on Sept. 26, 1935, to the late Julius and Lessie Ellis Gerald. He worked in textiles and had attended Bethel Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Ann Ford Gerald; by brothers Tim, Bill, Sherman, George, Edward, Jimmy, Herman, Burman, and Johnny; and sisters, Frances and Rosie Gerald.
He is survived by two sons, Jack Kirby Gerald Jr. of Rockingham, Mark Allen Gerald of Raleigh; two daughters, Pamela Oliver of Level Cross, Madonna Rhea McLintock of Asheboro; three brothers, Talmadge Gerald of Lexington, Thurman Gerald and Ray Gerald, both of Rockingham; two sisters, Catherine ‘Tina’ Jones of Donneley, Idaho, Gloria Jean Gerald of Rockingham; 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
