Sandhills Regional Medical Center will host a training program for the Hamlet Ministerial Association and other interested ministers on Hospital Medical Terminology and Technology.

The program will be held from 8:30 a.m. until noon on Wednesday, March 13, in the Sandhills Regional Medical Center Education Classroom.

It will be facilitated by the Rev. Larry Pope, corporate chaplain for Health Management Associates, the parent company of Sandhills Regional.

Pope has served as a pastor for 17 years, a chaplain for 13 years, and a chaplain trainer for four years.

Under the theme, “Understanding Your Hospital,” ministers will hear from various hospital leaders about their respective roles and commonly used terminology and technology used in their departments.

The goals of this training are to enhance ministers’ skills in meeting the spiritual needs of their members while in the hospital; and to train ministers to become volunteer hospital chaplains.

Seating is limited. Please RSVP by March 11 to Kimberly Harrington at 910-205-8121 or kim.harrington@hma.com.
