STARworks Glass, in Star, Montgomery County, is offering a unique experience for folks to work with hot glass to create a one-of-a-kind glass flower for themselves or their Valentine.
STARworks Glass Valentine’s Open House will be held Feb. 8 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
For just $25, glassblowers will help participants create their own Valentine’s flower. No experience is required. Youth, 12 and older, can also make flowers. The glass art pieces will be available for pick-up on Monday, Feb.13, in time for Valentine’s Day.
“The Valentine event is one of the only times each year when anyone can actually try their hands at working with hot glass,” said Nick Fruin, STARworks Glass coordinator.
A variety of Valentine gifts, including hearts, paperweights, flower vases, and jewelry made by local artist Anna Compton, will be available for purchase.
“We will be introducing new designs in all our glassware,” Fruin added.
The event is free and refreshments will be served. The open house will be in the studios of STARworks Glass, located at the rear of STARworks Center for Creative Enterprise at 100 Russell Drive in Star.
