Jimbo Shepard and Mandy Phifer exchanged vows on Nov. 18, 2012, on a private dock in Anson County, overlooking Blewett Falls Lake. This beautiful setting was the place of their first date, and the inspiration for the “low-key” ceremony.
The groom is the son of Jimmy Shepard of Lilesville, and Terri Moree of Rockingham. He is in sales and currently employed at Pinehurst Toyota.
The bride is the daughter of Bradford Phifer of Hamlet, and the late Sarah Callahan Perkins, of Gibson. She is the Gift Shop/Volunteer Services Manager for FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital.
The bride was escorted down the isle by her father, then after seating him on the front row, escorted on to the dock, by the Best Man.
The bride wore a baby pink, strapless dress, made of organza, with a ruched bodice and silver applique and beaded trim. The asymmetrical dress featured bunching from the lower waist to the knee, then flowing in the back. She paired her dress with a jean jacket to tie in the rustic scenery and overall feel of the outdoor ceremony.
Dannon Shepard, the Best Girl and daughter of the groom, wore a knee-length flowing A-line dress made of chiffon. It was in the same color of berry as was the Groom and Best Man’s shirt. Dannon also wore a jean jacket.
The bride carried a bouquet of yellow and pink roses, berry Gerbera daisies, green buttons, yellow Asiatic lilies, and white, pink and purple alstroemeria. Sea grass was mingled in to give it a “river feel”, while the stems were wrapped in pink ribbon. The Best Girl carried a smaller version of the bride’s bouquet. Sheccid Heaton, niece of the bride, was the flower girl, who wore an A-line, tea-length pink dress with fuchsia sequin applique. She carried a basket of pink rose petals.
The groom chose his son, Hunter Shepard, of the home, as his Best Man.
The couple has made their home in Hamlet.
