Mrs. Thelma Phillips-Henry Knight, 81, of Bennettsville, SC went home to be with the Lord Friday, December 28, 2012. She was born May 4, 1931 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Annie Robbins Phillips and Jesse Phillips.
Mrs. Knight was a life-long member of Nebo Wesleyan Church. She was retired from the textile industry and was, also, a store owner. She maintained a household with her grandson, Jamie, for the last sixteen years.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 pm Monday, December 31st at Nebo Wesleyan Church with Rev. Jeff Collins, Rev. Arvin De-Silva, and Rev. Randall Snead officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Knight is survived by a daughter, Christine English and husband James of Bennettsville; three grandchildren, Rev. Jamie English of Bennettsville, Michael English of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Christy English Land and husband Bryan of Rockingham; two great grandchildren, Winston Raines Land, who called Mrs. Knight “GiGi”, and Ava Kennedy Land; and a number of loving nieces and nephews. Mrs. Knight was preceded in death by her natural parents, Annie and Jesse Phillips, her adoptive parents, Emma and Alexander Henry; her husband, Sherman K. Knight; a brother, Stacy Phillips, and two grandchildren, Robert English and Paula English.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Sunday at Nebo Wesleyan Church.
