The Rockingham High School Class of 1952 held its 60th Class Reunion at Liberty Place in downtown Rockingham in June, 2012. Twenty-nine class members and 20 guests were present.

During the reunion planning sessions, the class voted to donate their excess funds to Discovery Place KIDS-Rockingham.

Discovery Place KIDS-Rockingham is an interactive children’s learning museum set to open at its new location on East Washington Street in Rockingham in the building that once held McKenzie Furniture. The museum is set to open in early 2013.

The donation of $500 was made in memory of their 29 deceased class members. Though the class donation is small in comparison to donations made by businesses, it is the hope of the class members that it might be an incentive for other classes to consider doing likewise.
