Kristina “Tina” Goude Monroe, of Whispering Pines, formerly of Laurel Hill and Hamlet, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at the age of 26 following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2012 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Pastor Paul McClure. Burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery in Rockingham.
Tina was born July 25, 1986 in Scotland County, daughter of Patsy Knight Morgan and Mitchell Goude. She was a beautiful and loving wife and a precious mother. She dedicated her life to the care of others and was so proud of her career in Nursing. Before her illness, she served as a Register Nurse with FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital. She was also a member of New Home Baptist Church in Vass and she enjoyed traveling.
Tina is survived by her husband, Christopher “Chris” Monroe and her young son, Mason Monroe of their home in Whispering Pines; her parents, Patsy and Don Morgan of Hamlet, Mitchell and Sharon Goude of Laurel Hill; father and mother-in-law, Danny and Cindy Monroe of Hamlet; sister-in-law, Danielle Watson of Greer, SC, grandmother, Essie Mae Knight and a host of family and close friends.
Visitation will be from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service on Friday at Richard Boles Funeral Service in Laurinburg.
The family request in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be made in memory of Tina to FirstHealth Hospice Palliative Care, 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst, NC 28374 or The Whispering Pines Fire Department, 16 Hardee Lane, Whispering Pines, NC 28327.
