Mary Ann Sorenson and Daniel Corey were married Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at 128 South on Main Street in Wilmington, at 4:30 p.m. Dr. David M. Stratton, step-father of the groom, officiated.

Mary Ann is the daughter of Wayne and Janet Sorenson of Matthews. She is the granddaughter of Merlin Leroy Sorenson and the late Mary Lou Sorenson, and the late Dr. and Mrs. Daniel Ennis Clark II. She is a graduate of Butler High School. Mary Ann earned an A.S. in Esthetics Technology from Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington.

Daniel is the son of Rev. Terri Carriker Stratton of Fuquay Varina, formerly of Ellerbe, and Phil Corey of Washington. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Carriker of Ellerbe, Mrs. Faye Corey and the late Mr. Charlie Corey of Washington, and the great-grandson of Mrs. Alma Carriker of Ellerbe. Daniel is a graduate of Richmond Senior High School and earned a B.A. in Physical Education and Health from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He is currently employed as an Assistant Store Manager at Lowe’s Home Improvement.

Escorted by her father, Wayne Sorenson, the bride was attended by Lauren Sorenson of Washington, sister-in-law of the bride, as Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids were Jessica Canady of Hampsted, Cheyenne Jacobs of Wilmington and Ashley Noia of Mahwah, N.J., Paisley Corey of Holly Ridge, niece of the groom, served as the Flower Baby.

Sgt. D. Patrick Corey of Holly Ridge, brother of the groom, served as the Best Man. Groomsmen were Dustin Paul of Mooresville, Dustin Locklear of Wilmington, and Clinton Sorenson, brother of the bride, of Washington.

Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance reception was held at 128 South on Main Street in Wilmington. After a honeymoon in the Dominican Republic, the couple now resides in Castle Hayne.

The wedding was coordinated by Brittany J. Koontz of Orchid Island Events.
