Jimmy Daniel Lassiter, 71, of 132 Church St., Cordova, died, Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.

Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, from 2 to 3 p.m. with a Memorial Service starting at 3 p.m. at Harrington Funeral Home, with Rev. Jerry Smith officiating. Burial will be private at a later date.

He was born July 9, 1941, in Montgomery County, a son of Joseph Bennie Lassiter and Mary Creola McCaskill. Lassiter was previously employed as a yard master for CSX Railroad. He is preceded in death by his wife, Louise Pate Lassiter, his parents, and a brother, J.B. Lassiter.

Survivors include his daughter, Teresa Lassiter of Wilmington; son, Joseph Bryan Lassiter of Hamlet; brother, Johnny Lassiter of High Point; sister, Alta Mae McFadden of Rockingham; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Harrington Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.
