Ashley Wallace and Robert DeBernard of Kennesaw, Ga., were united in marriage on May 19, 2012. The ceremony was held at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Southern Pines, with Father John Tampa officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Sandra Roller of Rockingham, and Ernest Wallace Jr. of Hamlet. She is a graduate of Kennesaw State University and is currently working as a Business Development Associate in Atlanta, Ga.

The groom is the son of Lewis “Mickey” and Marjorie DeBernard of Pinehurst. He is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, and is currently pursuing his Maters Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Auburn University in Auburn, Ala. Robert is currently working as a C-130 Mechanical Engineer at Lockheed Martin in Marietta, Ga.

The bride was given in marriage by her mother and father. The maid of honor was Jessica Webster of Charlotte. The bridesmaids were Jessica Rickles of Los Angeles, Calif., Jessica Pace of Aberdeen, Rachel Daniel of Raleigh, Jillian Sutton of Fayetteville, Stephanie McGee of Rockingham, and Danielle Blue of Pinehurst. Hannah Martin of Blacksburg, Va., was the flower girl and Baden Martin of Blacksburg, Va., was the ring bearer. Music for the ceremony was provided by Homer Furgeson of Southern Pines.

Ashley wore a mermaid style, taffeta gown by Demetrios. The gown featured a sweetheart neckline adorned with Swarovski crystals, a corset laced back and a drop waist with ruched pickups on the skirt. The bridesmaids each wore a strawberry colored, floor length chiffon gown by Mori Lee.

The groom’s best man was Andrew Hucks-Folliss of Charlottesville, Va. The groomsmen were Jason Griffith of Atlanta, Ga., Brian David of Eugene, Ore., Sam Rickles of Los Angeles, Calif., Matthew Wooldridge of Corpus Christi, Texas, Sam Frist of Fayetteville and Clayton Frist of the Czech Republic.

The reception immediately followed at the National Golf Club in Pinehurst, hosted by the bride, groom and their parents. The rehearsal dinner, hosted by the grooms parents, was held at Beefeaters in Southern Pines the night before.

The newlyweds headed off for a nine day honeymoon trip to Honolulu and Maui, Hawaii. The couple recently purchased a home in Kennesaw, Ga.
