He attended Robeson County schools and worked for the CSX Railroad for 27 years.
Funeral service will be held on Friday at 3 p.m. at St. Luke #2 Freewill Baptist Church, Dobbins Heights, with the Rev. Allen Sutton, Pastor and the Bishop Willie Sealy, Eulogist, Pastor of New Zion Holiness Church, Fairmont. Burial will follow in the Dobbins Heights Memorial Cemetery.
Public viewing will be held on Thursday from 1-7 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Service in Hamlet.
He is survived by his wife, Johnsie Hinson Douglas of the home; seven sons, Julius “Ben” Hinson of Wingate, James Douglas and Nathaniel Douglas both of Lumberton Nathan Douglas and Dennis Douglas both of East Orange, N.J., Terry Douglas of Newark, N.J. and Larue Bennett of Laurinburg and two daughters, Lisa Hinson and Priscilla Hinson both of the home; three step-daughters, Sherry Smith of the home, Brenda Stephen of Lumberton and Shenetha Clark of Laurinburg; four step-sons, Eddie Hinson of Hamlet, Adrain Douglas of Wood Bridge, N.J., Timmy Douglas of Irvington, N.J. and Anthony Douglas of Lumberton; Sisters, Sadie Thompson, Hattie William both of Lumberton, NC, Evangelist Ora Mae Sealey of Lumberton and Margaret Power of Fairmont; one brother, Alfred Douglas of Lumberton and eight grandchildren.
Nelson Funeral Service, Hamlet is in charge of arrangements.
