Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 17, in Highland Acres Church of God with Pastor Eston Bailey officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Methodist Church Cemetery in Wallace, S.C.
Randy was born in Haywood County on Oct. 18, 1969 to John and Elaine Sweatt Layton. He was a plumber and a lifetime member of the North American Hunting Club, as well as an avid NASCAR fan. He was preceded in death by a son, Harley Jordan Layton.
He is survived by his parents, John and Elaine Layton of Rockingham; his fiancé, Amy Goodwin of Rockingham; a son, Randy L. Layton, Jr. of Fayetteville; a daughter, Cameron Angela Tyson of Fayetteville; and a brother, Wesley Layton of Florence, SC.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Russell-Marks Funeral Home.
