Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 9 at Abundant Life Church with Pastor Joe Wilkes and Reverend Howard McLaurin officiating. Interment will follow in the Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.
A lifelong resident of Richmond County, Mr. Shepard was born on Oct. 10, 1953 to the late James C. and Edith Shepard. He was employed at Tobacco Road Outlet. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Crystal Gayle Shepard.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian Rushing Shepard; son, Bobby Ray Shepard, Jr. of Rockingham; two daughters, Angela Oler of Elizabethton, Tenn., Jamie Shepard of Rockingham; Four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Sept. 8 from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. at Abundant Life Church, and at other times at 108 Lindsey Drive., Rockingham.
