Players wiped away sweat as Hindson yelled out instructions, telling them what he wanted them to do with the ball when they got it, and how he wanted them to think about the game.
Richmond head coach Bennie Howard was on hand, watching the players and taking in all the action and instructions that Hindson was giving.
“He started off in the right direction by getting the players to think,” Howard said. “We always want our players thinking and communicating on the field. Any player can score a goal, but not many players on the field can think and play solid defense for the entire game.”
“That’s what we want from our players: Thinking,” Howard added.
Turnout for the camp consisted of 25 players ranging in age and experience from the Richmond Ninth Grade Academy to current members of the high school team,
Howard was pleased with the turnout.
“We have a very diverse group of players on the field, and this will really benefit the players at the ninth grade academy,” Howard said.
The camp will culminate on Friday afternoon when the players will travel to UNC Pembroke to play a scrimmage match against the South View Tigers.
