KEMPSVILLE Va. — The Rockingham Mustang All-Stars returned to the field on Saturday morning, hoping to stay alive in the Pony All-star tournament.

They faced a familiar foe in Western Branch, looking to get some payback for a 12-7 loss earlier in the tournament.

Unfortunatly, Rockingham was eliminated with a 22-4 loss.

Rockingham was never really able to get its offense off the ground, and Western Branch broke the game open in the top of the third.

Rockingham led, 3-2 going into the top half of the inning, but an eight-run outburst by Western Branch put Rockingham in a 10-3 hole.

Myles Rohleder later scored the remaining run for Rockingham to make it a 10-4 ball game.

The score remained 10-4 into the sixth inning, when Western Branch put on another offensive display, pushing across 12 more runs and taking advantage of several Rockingham errors.

Rohleder was an offensive bright spot for Rockingham, going 2-for 4 with a run scored. Johnathan Lee and Jack Webb were both 1-for 2, with Justin Ingram going 1-for 1.
