A motorcycle accident over the weekend on U.S. 220 left a Hamlet man and juvenile passenger hospitalized in Pinehurst, along with the driver of the other vehicle.
Doug Franklin, 35, of Greenfield Road, Hamlet, was driving a motorcycle northbound on U.S. 220 Saturday afternoon with a juvenile passenger when his vehicle was struck by a pickup truck making a left hand turn onto Northside Drive.
The truck was being driven by Doris Collins, 70, of Nicole Lane, Rockingham, who was traveling northbound on U.S. 220 before making the left-hand turn across the two southbound lanes of the highway.
No one has been charged in the incident, and the investigation has been closed by the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
All three involved in the accident were transported to Moore Regional Medical Center in Pinehurst. Franklin and Collins were both listed in good condition Monday afternoon.
Information on the juvenile’s condition was not readily available.
