Alex Norton was sent to the mound to try and keep the Patriots bats silent, but the Patriots had other ideas.

The Raiders scored one run in the top of the second inning, off a single by Alex Norton, allowing Kole Stanley to cross the plate for the Raiders’ first run.

Jacob Sears doubled to open the frame, and then Chandler Fann reached base on an error, allowing Sears to score from second base to close the gap to 6-2.
Adam Sweatt followed up with a two-out single, followed by a single and a walk allowed by the Pinecrest defense, which pushed another run across the plate. Cody Wilson belted a double to left center driving, in both Sweatt and Fann. Richmond trailed by just one.
Bradley Brown stepped to the plate and quickly found himself in an 0-2 hole. With two on and two out, Brown faced the possibility of leaving the runners stranded.
Brown dug in, and hit a shot over the right field wall for a three-run homer, pushing the Raiders out to an 8-6 lead.
The Raiders looked poised to pick up a win, but errors in the field cost the Raiders that chance.
James Buie gave up a run in the fifth, and then two more in the bottom of the sixth as the Patriots rallied to retake the lead. Richmond was unable to rally in the top of the seventh.
The Jr. Raiders host Leesville Road in a doubleheader Friday night at 5 p. m.
