Seventeen members of the Ebony Dragon Competition Team won a total of 26 trophies at the Universal Karate Championships, held recently in Lancaster, S.C.

Wil Mabe, a 5-and-under white/orange belt, was first in kata and fourth in fighting.

Kurt McCormick, an 8-year-old white/orange belt, was first in kata and second in fighting. Micah Wilson was third in fighting.

Rakwan Marshall, an 11-year-old brown belt, was third in kata. Curtis McCoy, a 14/15-year-old white/orange belt, was fourth in fighting.

Eathan Wilson, a 14/15-year-old blue/green belt, was first in fighting and first in kata. David Watkins III, a 12/13-year-old black belt, was fourth in kata and first in fighting.

Kenneth Hester, a 14/15-year-old black belt, was second in kata and first in fighting. Mykeria Savannah, a 9-year-old girls white/orange belt, was a finalist. Jalen Tony was also a finalist.

Jenifer Campbell, an 11-year-old girls blue/green belt, was first in fighting and first in kata. Denisha Watkins, an 11-year-old brown belt, was first in open kata, first in fighting and second in traditional kata.

Destiny Riggins, a 12-year-old girls blue/green belt, was first in fighting. Robbin Campbell was third in kata.

Hayley Napier, a 13-year-old junior girls white/orange belt, was first in kata and first in fighting. Denise Watkins, a women’s brown belt, was second in open kata, first in traditional kata and first in fighting.

Wykenia Tillman, a women’s black belt, was first in fighting and first in kata.
