He was educated in the Richmond County School System. He was employed with Stanley Fasteners and later employed with Banner Pharmacaps of High Point. He was a member of New Diggs A.M.E. Zion Church.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 2, 2010 at 3 p.m. at the Wayman Chapel AME Zion Faith Center, Hamlet with the Rev. Carol Turner, officiating and the Rev. Luther McLendon, Eulogist. Burial will follow in the New Diggs AME Zion Church Cemetery.
Public viewing will be held on Thursday from 1-7 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Service in Rockingham.
He is survived by his wife, Rev. Terry Legrand of 19 years; three daughters, Summer Smith of Columbia, SC, Selitta Legrand and Yalonda Legrand of the home; two grandchildren; brothers, Willie Legrand, Stancil Legrand, Michael Legrand all of Rockingham and Darryl Wall of Philadelphia, PA; two sisters, Norma Scarboro of Manhattan, N.Y. and Christina Ramsey of Thomasville.
