The recent resignation of a staffer for U.S. Rep. Larry Kissell was specifically predicated on the improper use of his office computer and official title for personal use, as it was explained in a congressional press release.
Now, the Associated Press is reporting that Wendell Fant, the former Kissell staffer who was asked to step down due to alleged ethics violations, is considering running against his old boss as a third party candidate.
Thursday morning, N.C. Families First, an advocacy group that supported Obama’s Health Care Reform package that Kissell voted no on, has turned in twice the number of signatures required to have Fant added to the November ballot, and is waiting for the Mecklenburg County Board of Elections to verify the signatures.
Fant hasn’t confirmed whether he will run if the signatures are confirmed or not.
