Jordan Leigh Jernigan and Nicholas Joel Russell were married May 29 at 5 p.m. by Rev. Randy Bishop and Rev. Trey Martin at the First Baptist Church in Hamlet.

The bride is the daughter of Joey and Judy Jernigan of Hamlet and the granddaughter of Norva Jernigan of Hamlet.

The groom is the son of Ken and Kim Russell of Hamlet and the grandson of Dale and Jean Brorby of Michigan and Graham and Delores Russell of Hamlet.

Jordan is a May graduate of North Carolina State University with a bachelors of science in chemical engineering and paper engineering, and will be employed by Exxonmobil in Houston, Texas.

Nicholas attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is currently pursuing a criminal justice/psychology degree at Wake Technical College in Raleigh.

The bride wore a strapless A-line skirt fitted bodice-embellished gown along with embellished bustles placed in design on A-line skirt with a chapel length train.

The Maids of Honor were Emily Wayne of Raleigh and Erica Johnson of Hamlet. The two wore two piece halter floor length dresses with bustled skirts. The color of the dresses was watermelon.

The bridesmaids were Kathryn Westfall of Raleigh, Kristin Grant of Raleigh and LeeAnn Young of Raleigh. The bridesmaids wore the same dresses at the maids of honor.

The best man was the father of the groom. The groomsmen in absentia were Josh Jernigan, brother of bride and Dustin Russell brother of groom. Both men are deployed overseas in the U.S. Army.

The ushers were Matt Russell, of Hamlet, brother of the groom, Derick Russell, of Hamlet, brother of groom, James Davis of Raleigh, Anthony Growe of Hamlet and Robert Carroll of Raleigh.

The soloist was Thomas Greene of Buies Creek. The organists were Don Greene and Mary Snider of Hamlet.

The wedding registry was done by Amber Teeters and Rebecca Dunn gave out the programs.

The reception was held at Cole Auditorium in Hamlet. Wedding favors were given out at the reception by Kassie Allen and McKenzie Allen.

The couple honeymooned in Key West, Florida and will reside in Houston, Texas.
