May 14 at Raider Stadium was, indeed, a wonderful evening. We celebrated our survivors; remembered those no longer with us; cried together; and laughed together. We proudly saluted the soldiers who walked to raise money in memory of one of their own who died of cancer.

This great event could not have happened without our corporate sponsors, our in-kind sponsors, and the businesses that supported the survivors’ breakfast. Your generosity is overwhelming, and we are so grateful for your continued generous support.

There is also a very special group we wish to thank. The students of Richmond Senior High were so helpful - setting out the luminaries; assisting with the bone marrow drive; walking many laps around the track picking up the garbage; and doing whatever was asked of them. Students, your volunteering is greatly appreciated.

The team captains and the teams this year were truly amazing. Your loyalty and dedication to this cause was outstanding. Without you, Relay would not have happened. Thank you so much.

To our planning committee, we want to say that you are awesome. Each month you were at the meetings. On Relay night, you were there to help teams get set up and to answer questions. Thank you so much for giving of your time and your talents to help fight this horrible disease.

Finally we want to say thank you to Richmond County. We appreciate all that you have done to help make Relay 2010 a success. Without a doubt, Richmond County is truly a giving county.

Kudos to Linda and Bill Bayless - I had a number of friends who are survivors and walked with the Relay for Life group. And our soldiers are awesome!
