Summer swim lessons slated

The Rockingham Parks and Recreation Department is currently accepting registration for the 2010 summer swimming program. There will be two sessions

n First session: Monday, June 14 and Friday, June 25;

n Monday, July 5 and Friday, June 16

Richmond baseball camp on deck

Richmond Senior’s baseball team will sponsor a camp soon. There will be two sessions: Ages 9-14 will have their camp from June 16-18, from 9 a.m. to noon daily. The cost for that age group is $60.

The session for ages 6-8 will be held June 21-22 from 9 a.m. to noon daily. The cost for that group will be $40. Applications can be picked up at the high school.

Raider hoop camp coming up

Richmond Senior High School will host the 20th Annual Raider Basketball Camp June 22 - 25. The camp will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day.

The camp is open to boys and girls ages 6 - 12.

Early registration, due by June 10, is $45. After June 10, registration is $60.

The registration fee includes insurance and a camp T-shirt. If slots are still available, walk-ins will be welcome.

Travel soccer tryouts slated

The Scotland Youth Soccer Association (SYSA) will host travel soccer tryouts June 6 from 3 - 4:30 p.m. and June 7 from 6 - 7:30 p.m. at the James C. Morgan Complex in Laurinburg, located behind Walmart.

Five teams will be put together, for girls from 8 - 17 and boys from 8 - 13.

The teams will be as follows:

n U-10 boys and girls;

n U-12 boys and girls;

n U-14 boys and girls;

n U-16 girls;

n U-18 girls.
