Severe weather struck Richmond County late Sunday evening, knocking out power lines for more than 300 people.

“We had several outages,” said Jake McGee, operations superintendent of Pee Dee Electric. “The boys worked till about 3 a.m., and we have had several calls this morning.”

There were 28 Progress Energy customers in Richmond County who experienced power outages during Sunday night’s severe weather.

“All are back on, except one and we expect that to be back on shortly,” said Scott Sutton, spokesperson for Progress Energy at about 10 a.m.
