Alma Grant Quick, 86, of 1204 Roberdell Road, Rockingham, died Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Hospice Haven in Rockingham.

Mrs. Quick was born Aug. 6, 1923 in Marlboro County, S.C., a daughter of the late Henry and Annie Steen Grant. She was a member of Roberdell Baptist Church where she has served as an assistant Sunday school teacher and a member of the Task Force on Prayer. She had retired from Hanes Hosiery, Sandhurst Plant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Silas I. Quick and a daughter, Elaine Vuncannon.

Surviving are her son, Silas H. Quick of Rockingham; daughter, Marcia Brown of Athens, GA; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Dewey Grant of Greensboro; and sisters, Gracie Graham and Lucille Boone, both of Hamlet.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Roberdell Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Smith and Rev. Jerry Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.

The family will see friends from 2:15 – 3:15 p.m. Tuesday at the church and at other times at the Quick home, 254 Lakeview Trail, Rockingham.
