The pair of practices are moving to a new location at 809 S. Long Drive with more than 5,100 square feet in office space next week.
Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Ward Oakley Jr. has practiced with Pinehurst Surgical in Richmond County for more than 20 years, and said this will be the third Rockingham location he’s practiced in during that time.
“Pinehurst Surgical has maintained a presence in the Richmond community for over 20 years, and it is our goal to remain in the community,” Oakley said. “Our Orthopedic and Ear, Nose and Throat Departments look forward to setting up our new office space beside FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital. The new location will offer our patients and guests easy and convenient access to the hospital, enhanced parking, a pleasant and relaxing reception area and create improved work flow efficiency for our physicians and staff to better serve our patients.”
He said the majority of the patients his practice serves are from Richmond County, but there are also some from Anson County, Marlboro County across the state line and the Laurinburg-area.
Some surgical procedures are done in Richmond County, while others are done in Pinehurst at FirstHealth Moore Regional.
“Us being here seems to be more convenient for them, and most don’t mind traveling for surgery,” Oakley said. “We appreciate the trust from our patients allowing Pinehurst Surgical to take care of the health care needs in the community, and on behalf of the physicians and staff, we will continue to earn your trust. Our mission remains the same, to provide the best care to every patient in an environment that fosters teamwork, respect and compassion for all.”
FirstHealth President John Jackson pointed out Pinehurst Surgical will be joined by other tenants in the new location.
“We are excited that Pinehurst Surgical Clinic has joined the growing list of tenants at FirstHealth Richmond Medical Plaza,” Jackson said. “Richmond Medical Plaza was designed to meet the needs of the Richmond County medical community by providing state-of-the-art office space for physicians and other health care professionals.”
Other tenants of the plaza include FirstHealth Richmond Medical Group Internal Medicine Specialist Dr. Lauren Alter and First Chiropractic Care Dr. David Arnold, Jackson said.
