Thank you citizens of Richmond County. We made awesome choices in selecting Major Clemmons for Sheriff. His appointment should help in changing the direction of Richmond County.

Thank you voters and his campaign staff. Let’s stay motivated and put fresh ideas in office in this city that has great potential, but over the years has been hindered from its growth by some selfish people. Lets continue to give our city the face-lift it needs - new leaders.

The scam was on! Three people other than Mr Clemmons ran for the same position. 1 of those three was a plant to get the votes spread out amongst them. One of them had no business running. I won't say who, but 1 of them will still be employed there when the dust settles if Clemmons wins the final election. It was all part of the plan to begin with. Now don't get me wrong it was a good strategic plan and it worked. Cudo's to Mr. Clemmons and his staff. However the election is not until November. If he wins, then we will see next year just what his true intentions at the Sheriffs department are. Simply by watching who he puts in the top positions. Will they be from within lord knows there are nore than enough qualified candidates or will he go to the SRO's and hand pick a few friends??? Time will tell, but don't be shocked when it happens.

Perhaps if they would elect some Republicans, this would not be the foodstamp capitol of the world!

Oldschool and Regal You are both right....it ain't over till it's OVER. There are plenty more Republicans and Independents here than most people think.

Imagine this....a Republican Sheriff in Richmond Co. That would make the Guiness wouldn't it ! Not likely to ever be but anything could happen. LOL

I know that he probably won't stand a chance but you should not be declaring Clemmons a winner yet. There is a challenger in Nov. by the name of Doug Brown. But folks around here do not know how to vote for anyone unless it has Democrat beside their name
