The FirstHealth of the Carolinas Employee Assistance Program is offering a workshop that focuses on a parenting approach that demonstrates active parenting without the struggle.
The workshop, titled “Parenting with Love and Logic,” is a nationally recognized training program that teaches parents and those who work with children to set limits and apply consequences, share control, communicate without anger and reduce stress.
“The ‘Parenting with Love and Logic’ approach is designed to help parents and teachers through easy-to-use techniques,” says Casey Powers, a counselor with the FirstHealth Employee Assistance Program. “We are excited about the benefits that this program will provide to the parents and teachers in our community.”
FirstCarolinaCare Insurance Company and the FirstHealth Employee Assistance Program are collaborating to offer this workshop at a significant discount for participants.
The two-day workshop is $10, and payment is due at pre-registration. The first day of training will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11. The second and final day of training will take place on Tuesday, May 18, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided. Classes will be held in the Third Floor Auditorium at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital.
